Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), a leading semiconductor company headquartered in Santa Clara, California, has been struck by another significant cyberattack, just months after a previous breach compromised sensitive internal communications and employee information.
The latest attack is attributed to the criminal groups IntelBroker and EnergyWeaponUser, who reportedly stole various information from AMD, including user credentials, internal resolutions, and detailed case descriptions. This stolen data is being sold on the dark web marketplace BreachForums, a dark web marketplace known for hosting and selling stolen data.
This marks the second time this year that AMD’s internal communications and sensitive employee information have been compromised by cyberattacks. In June 2024, a similar breach resulted in the theft of employee data such as phone numbers, email addresses, and financial documents. IntelBroker claimed responsibility for this massive data leak, and the breach saw details of the intrusion and multiple data samples shared on BreachForums.
IntelBroker, one of the groups behind the attack on AMD, has been linked to several other alleged breaches in recent months. This group reportedly attacked high-profile targets such as Europol and T-Mobile, though both organizations have denied compromising their systems. In response to the latest breach, AMD has acknowledged the claims but has not yet verified the details or provided a comprehensive comment. The company is currently investigating the situation and assessing the extent of the data breach.
